MSPs increasingly see AV and workplace technology as part of the IT environment.
That is logical. They already understand asset management, monitoring, service delivery, help desk operations, lifecycle planning and recurring revenue. And many already own significant portions of the enterprise IT relationship.
So where does that leave the AV Integrator? With an opportunity.
Integrators understand AV systems. Not simply individual devices. Integrated environments. Signal flow. Room design. Programming. Commissioning. They know how to design, deploy, support and manage the user experience across multi-vendor systems.
That expertise is difficult to replicate.
The challenge is not that Integrators lack technical value. It is that many still deliver that value through a primarily project-based operating model.
Integrators do not need to become traditional IT MSPs. But there is plenty to learn from the way MSPs operate.
MSPs stay connected after deployment. They continuously manage assets. They monitor. They support. They report. They plan lifecycle changes. Their operating model creates recurring customer contact.
Integrators can apply the same lifecycle thinking to AV while maintaining the specialist expertise that differentiates them.
Deep AV expertise + Lifecycle operating model
Instead of handing over the environment after installation, the Integrator stays involved. Deployment creates the system record. Monitoring creates visibility. Support protects the experience. Optimization creates continuous improvement. Lifecycle intelligence drives refresh.
The AV Integrator becomes harder to displace because the relationship is no longer built around individual projects.
Enterprise customers are already pushing in that direction. The more important question is: Who will own the AV lifecycle when it does?
Integrators have an opportunity to lead that transition rather than react to it.
